Do you have a passion for food? Are you an alum who has just published a book? Put on your own performance of a play? Whether you have won a Pulitzer, are a famous chef, cook like a gourmand of your own kitchen, or are pushing cabs between auditions, join us!

Foodtober kicks off with "Women in Cheese: An Artisanal Tasting” at the home of Sharon Ruwart (YC ’85) and her husband Tom Melcher. Their event will offer participants a fun and fascinating evening featuring a lot of cheese, wine (of course!), light bites and the famous Cheese Quiz. Come hungry!

Every October, celebrates Foodtober: A month of food-related events and activities exploring food culture, creation, politics, business, media, history and science. We share the knowledge, talents and passions of our Yale and NYC communities and facilitate social engagement that increases our knowledge, broadens our horizons, and expands our palates, while raising funds for our non-profit partners, Yale Sustainable Food Project, City Growers and Just Food. To date, we’ve donated more than $14,000.

It’s always a lot of food for thought!

Foodtober19 is bringing Yalies and friends together for seven events this year. As always, the Foodie Dinner and Rooftop Farm Tour are back again, but we are also excited to welcome several brand new events to the Foodtober stage: cooking classes with chefs Naomi Pomeroy and Fuschia Dunlop, a lecture by Yale professor Dr. Maria Trumpler on the history of bread making, and a community cooking event at Lee's on Canal
